In 2012, The Dinner Shoppe was established to help get dinner on the table faster. No matter what stage of life you're in, we want to help you enjoy all of the wonderful nuances that dinner time provides without the hassle of you spending a ton of time in a grocery store and prepping food. Our ideals and mission were based on the idea that dinner time is about bringing people together to love great food, conversation, and each other.

While our purpose is to make cooking dinner easier for you, our mission is to bring busy lives to the dinner table. We know there are many ways of life, whether you are single or a family of six, but we just want to help make your dinner experience easy and enjoyable.

Eric is a true local and comes from our own backyard…went to school at Fernbank Elementary, then graduated class of '84 from Westminster HS. He went on to Bucknell University landing at the Culinary Institute of America where his love for food, flavors, and the feeling of family togetherness that good meals provide was inspired.
Over the past 30 years, Eric has been cooking and serving throughout the greater Atlanta and Highland, NC population with specialty dishes. From intimate sit and serve dinners, to family parties, grander weddings, and historical events, he always gives his personal attention to detail start to finish. Eric is held in high regard and a #1 recommendation by those who have experienced his food and catering services. His resume includes 25 years as Head Chef and Mgr. of Operations for Jerry Dilts Catering and has operated his own business, Wieland Catering, along with his wife Kristin, over the past 5 years. He also has a reputation for being an awesome dad to his son Noah who is now a Junior at Davidson College.
His wife, Kristin, is equally passionate about relationships (people and pets!), community outreach, holistic health science, and providing the best for her family. Her background in networking and building businesses along with her avocation for educating on natural wellness will come in handy here! She has 3 grown children, and they visit frequently. They all love to get together to cook, play games, and laugh a lot.
Together, they combine talents to blend community, culture, and connections over food and conversations. As the new year begins, come by and meet Eric and Kristin, you will love them! There’s lots of new things on the horizon, all while keeping the basics of getting dinner on your table first and foremost.
I absolutely love helping get dinner on your table! One of the many values that my mom ingrained in me was that dinner time was always family time. It's about coming together after a long day and talking about everything and anything and being family. We all go through so many different stages of life, whether we are single, young couples, young families, empty nesters, or retirees, but we still look forward to the social part of dinner time! It's just getting it on the table that is always the problem!!
I'm a born and bred Atlantan, born at Piedmont Hospital, went to Briarcliff High School, and married my high school sweetheart! In 2012, after raising our sons, I decided to try to make a go of the already prepped dinner business. I get to do all the things I love... running the business, testing new recipes, all the ins and outs of the foodservice business, and most importantly, getting to know you!! Thanks to my family for all their support through these last years. I couldn't have done it without them! One of my most favorite things was our once-a-month taste testings. Our parents would come over and taste test 14 or 15 different meals, and we had so much fun! We still have our moms to help give opinions, but I'll never forget how much our dads loved those nights, the fun we had together, and how they loved to get to eat all that meat!!!
